Every song that is part of the 2008 Weekly Song Experiment was recorded as an improvisation while adhering to self-imposed limitations. Each song was written and recorded in a small room over the course of a week using only one microphone and free audio applications. Each piece of music/song had it's length limited to two minutes and thirty seconds.
The second week's song is entitled Deny the Anxiety. During the recording of these improv songs I became obsessed with trying to write guitar parts backwards and then reversing them after recording them. This is the first song that I ventured into that experiment.
Lyrically, it's an ode to a couple of denial techniques used in my years of perpetual anxiety.

It's not the friends we keep...
It's not how easy we cave in.
